A top 25 course in Scotland, Gullane #1 does not have a clear designer, as records indicate golf being played over these links as far back as 1650. The championship layout you see today was created in 1884, and is the oldest of the three courses in Gullane. Past host for several Open Championship qualifiers, and also served as the 2015 Scottish Open venue.
