Ranked 50th best golf course in the world and 25th best in the United States, the Ocean Course highlights the exceptional golfing resort of Kiawah Island. A Pete Dye creation, the Ocean Course was flew under the radar in the public eye until 1991 when it hosted the Ryder Cup. Deemed the “War by the Shore” the 1991 Ryder Cup was one of the most intense tournaments in history, and brought popularity to both the Ryder Cup and Ocean Course at Kiawah. The Ocean Course also was the host of the 2012 PGA Championship, won by Rory McIlroy. Each hole offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, and is a bucket list course for any golfer.
