Wairakei International

Designed by Commander John Harris of England in 1970. Very little earth was moved when constructing Wairakei. As Harris wanted to utilize some of the unique natural features of the land. The signature hole is the 14th, a 608-yard par five with bunkering, water, and a banana-shaped green.

Luxury, five-star timber lodge resort on the Waikato River, less than two miles from Wairakei Golf Course. Their modern suites have terraces with river views, while their cottages come with private infinity pools. Five-course dinners are served at their fine-dining restaurant. Other amenities feature a pool, tennis course, and summerhouse with a jetty.
