Nowhere in the world are there so many consistently spectacular golf courses as on the Emerald Isle. Bordered by the Irish Sea to the east and by the Atlantic Ocean to the north, south and west, this little island has been battered by the elements for millions of years to produce the mountains, jagged coastline and glorious dunelands that we see today.

There are over 250 courses in Ireland, fashioned by such legends as Tom Morris, Tom Simpson, Alister Mackenzie, H S Colt, Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus. Many famous tournaments have been played here including the British Open, Walker Cup, British Amateur and, of course, the Irish Open. While many of the courses are remote they are usually uncrowded and genuinely welcoming to visitors.
