The new Castle Stuart Golf Links will have a similar impact on the golfing world as that achieved by Old Head and Kingsbarns. Laid out on the shores of the Moray Firth just east of Inverness, the setting is spectacular with seven greens right by the water and all the others really close by.
Every hole affords majestic views, with those towards the Kessock Bridge and Northern Highlands being particularly memorable.
Chanonry Lighthouse also provides a dramatic feature to the north and beyond that the Black Isle rears up atmospherically across the water.
The ancient Castle Stuart itself is a stunning backdrop to the short 4th hole, but this is a championship course which oozes challenge and personality at every turn. |
